Interviewing engineers: CDN, DevOps, Forward Deployed and AI MLOps roles
14 October 2026
Snazzy Interview comes with four sample roles for technical hiring, each ready to check and approve: a CDN Engineer (Akamai), a DevOps Engineer, a Forward Deployed Engineer and an AI MLOps Engineer. Each has three skills with a scoring guide, three main questions and the role's hard requirements. Here they are in action, with the camera on.
About these videos: they are recorded from the real app with a local model on the Mac. The candidate's answers come from a simulated candidate (a local AI model); the person on camera agreed to be filmed. The employer, "Example Ltd", is made up. Waiting while the model works is cut short.
CDN Engineer (Akamai)
Edge configuration and caching, troubleshooting live traffic, and automating CDN changes with code. Eligibility covers the right to work and a weekday on-call rota. Watch the candidate turn the camera on, the deck follow the questions, and the recruiter play back the recording next to the evidence.
DevOps Engineer
Delivery pipelines, infrastructure as code and reliability. The follow-ups ask for what the candidate personally did and what changed as a result.
Forward Deployed Engineer
Understanding the customer's real problem, building and shipping in their environment, and explaining trade-offs. When the candidate asks about things the company facts don't cover, the interviewer passes the question to the hiring team instead of guessing.
AI MLOps Engineer
Taking models from experiment to production, serving them, and monitoring quality, drift and cost.
Make them yours
- Start from a sample: Interviews window › New Role › Sample Roles. Change the questions, skills and scoring guide, add your company facts (hours, pay range, team, process), then approve.
- Or start from your own job description: New Role › From a Job Description.
- Try it before candidates do: Simulate runs the role against simulated candidates (strong, vague, nervous, ones who mention personal details or try to instruct the AI) so you can see how the questions and follow-ups behave.
- Offer the camera only if you need it. It's off by default and always the candidate's choice.
