Free interview prep kits: learn by doing, practise with your own AI

14 October 2026

Snazzy Interview helps recruiters run fair first-round interviews. Interview Prep is the other side, for candidates, and it's free: prep kits for technical roles that take you from studying the topics, to doing real work and explaining it on video, to practising the interview with your own AI model.

In short: download a kit now, or (from the next Snazzy Pro update) open Interviews › Interview Prep, pick a role, and work through three steps: study, learn by doing, practise. Kits so far: CDN Engineer (Akamai), DevOps Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer and AI MLOps Engineer. See the kits.

1. Study what interviewers actually ask about

Each kit lists the topics that come up, why they come up, and what to cover, with links to official documentation and learning paths: MDN for HTTP, Akamai TechDocs, Terraform and Kubernetes documentation, the CNCF certifications, the Google SRE book, Anthropic's documentation and free courses, and the cloud providers' certifications. Open the topics as a study deck and present it to yourself: explaining a slide out loud shows quickly what you don't know yet.

2. Learn by doing, and record it

Every kit has hands-on exercises you do in your own code editor: build a pipeline and break it, write CDN configuration as code, integrate two APIs, evaluate an LLM feature. Then record a three-minute walkthrough with Snazzy Pro, with your screen, your camera and your voice, explaining what you did and why. It's the closest thing to the interview itself, and you end up with videos you can share with recruiters or on LinkedIn.

3. Practise the interview, with coaching

The practice interview uses the same format as real first rounds: questions about what you did, short follow-ups asking for specifics, a time limit. Your own AI model plays the interviewer, whether that's a local model on your Mac (nothing leaves it) or Claude with your own key. Afterwards you get coaching on each skill: what came across in your answers, what a strong answer covers, and what to add next time. Because the practice is for you, it can tell you all of that; real interviews never do.

Make it a habit

For recruiters

Send every candidate the matching kit (the role's menu in the Interviews window has a link). Everyone prepares with the same material, nerves matter less, and you hear about what candidates can actually do.
