Run your talk from your wrist: the Snazzy Pro Apple Watch remote
8 October 2026
Walk away from the Mac, keep your hands free, and still control the recording and the slides. Snazzy Pro now has an Apple Watch app.
What can the watch do? Start, pause, resume and stop recording on your Mac, go to the next or previous slide, and show the recording time and the current slide. It taps your wrist when recording starts or stops, so you know without looking.
How it works
The watch app comes with the Snazzy Pro app for iPhone. Your watch talks to your iPhone, and your iPhone talks to your Mac over the same encrypted link the iPhone remote already uses. Nothing goes over the internet.
- Pair your iPhone with your Mac once: in Snazzy Pro on the Mac, choose Devices › iPhone & iPad Remote… and scan the code with your iPhone.
- Install Snazzy Pro on your Apple Watch from the Watch app on your iPhone (it may already be there).
- Open Snazzy Pro on your iPhone, then on your watch. The watch shows your Mac's name and a big red Record button.
On the watch
- Recording: Ready, Recording or Paused, a running timer, and Record, Pause, Resume and Stop.
- Slides (swipe up): “Slide 3 of 12”, the slide's title, previous and next, and what's coming next.
- Taps on your wrist when recording starts, when it stops, and if something didn't work.
Good for
- Teachers walking around the room during a live lesson.
- Presenters standing at a whiteboard or a demo table, away from the keyboard.
- Recording on your own: start the take from where you're standing, stop it when you're done, no walking back to the Mac.
Good to know
- The iPhone and watch apps are in testing now, ahead of the App Store.
- Keep the Snazzy Pro app open on your iPhone. It keeps the screen on while it's connected to the Mac. If it isn't open, the watch tells you.
- The iPhone and the Mac need to be on the same Wi-Fi.
- For speaker notes, use the iPhone or iPad remote as a teleprompter. The watch screen is kept for the controls.
- Coming next: a tap at “1 minute left” and “time's up”, and changing slides with the Digital Crown.
